Is AAA auto insurance / membership worth it?
I live in the Bay Area.
Echoing above - discounts, free travel guides/maps for all 50 states, and having a tow truck for essentially free/a few dollars depending on mileage has been a God send the few times I've needed it. Best part, the membership is tied to you, not the car. So as long as you have your card, you can use it for help on any vehicle you're in.

They have the highest fee. Not worth it. Yea you may get discount in some places using AAA but rarely used it and they also have restrictions on the discount you get.

Agree. AAA membership and AAA insurance are 2 different things
AAA membership is def worth it but shop around on the insurance. I had AAA car insurance years ago and the adjusters were dicks when it came to claims. Have Allstate now...
If you have children, you can add a teen driver for free to the membership. It is worth the peace of mind.
Lots of places give discounts for flashing the AAA card, and having access to towing services has come in handy for when my car has sputtered out on the 101. AAA is very worth it.
