Found a top comment which confirm an entire team in OCI has been fired. So this is definitely not a performance layoffs https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19465940
OCI should give all their business to GCP
OCI Seattle had layoffs? I read the legacy cloud is the one that got affected
OCI Seattle also had layoffs.
Hire to fire? Such bs
Several teams in OCI have been let go - not just one. Source - manager is a buddy and told me
How many folks in OCI Seattle got impacted?
Ok.. now I am really having second thoughts. My h1 has been approved and am going to join in a month. What do you guys think? I see the Jan 2019 guy was let go. Is this nearing the end for the Seattle office?
My team at OCI is hiring like crazy. The company just has a new, better direction. If you like to run, be ready to lose fat.
what is that new direction? What was being done wrong before and they are now trying to fix? And what's the reason for laying off entire teams? Does that mean these teams have no contribution at all to the cloud aspect? Which begs the question why the teams were created in the first place. I understand non-oci part layoffs ,but don't get entire oci teams being taken out
He is towing the company line
Don't listen to this guy above. I was saved by the skin of my teeth. But more cuts are coming
What is OCI ?
Oracle's 'cloud'
who actually pays oracle for cloud? what is oci competitive edge?
I guess Oracle database engine as a service???
Feel bad for the people. That said I’ve interviewed many people out of OCI and they seemed to be pretty weak. Perhaps they grew too fast compromising the talent level?
