OYO - tell me about this company

Anyone worked/works there in the US? What does the culture and future look like? Would you ever considering moving let's say if you were doing really well at FANG at the moment. What would be your motivations either way? OYO is a startup in the hospitality industry, founded in 2013, valued at around $15Bn, headquarters in India, and planning IPO in the next 3ish years. Asking about SF based role.

You should provide introduction on what the company is. If it’s something obvious, people not working there can help you decide as well.

Thanks, added.

Unless they are doubling your salary, I don't see a reason to work there.

No. I heard their work culture in India is very political.

Well well, I have heard pretty much every company in India has a political work culture.

My motivation would be to move to India at some point internally. FWIW I had offer from them last year for Gurgaon location but didn’t end up taking it for personal reasons. I enjoyed talking to everyone there. Also, keep in mind that OYO is hospitality first company and engineering is supporting the business and not driving it so it will be a much different experience for you going there from a engineering focused company like FB. Do you already have an offer?

No I don't, very initial research. And I don't plan on moving to India either.

I had offer in past from Oyo for Gurgaon(India). Wouldn't recommend to Join. Their work culture is bad and on top of that they had alternate Saturdays working without any extra comp.

Don't do it OP. It's main purpose now seems to be to allow softbank to book paper gains by having the founder indulge in all kinds of financial shenanigans. Read its coverage on The Ken (paywalled) to get a better idea about the company. Their ceo is pretty controversial in India. Do research about that first. Also does not look worthy at all to go there from Facebook
