Considering jobs from Oculus Research. Although owned by Facebook, as far as I know, they are operating pretty much on their own (you are welcome to correct me if I'm wrong:). Does anyone know if their benefits & salary are in sync with the rest of the FB, or maybe they use their own compensation system? It is relatively hard to find legit compensation information of Oculus, while there are lots of information available for FB. Any information helps. Thanks folks!
Thanks!
I was told by a recruiter for the Redmond research org that they have the same payscale as in the Bay Area. From what I understand, this is probably quite a bit more than what we would be making at MSFT.
He is right. FB pays the same for all North America locations. Trust me when I say it would be quite a bit more then what MSFT can do for you. Join us π.
Mind share some numbers π I just got an e5 offer actually. did some research here and other places. The numbers I saw are all over the place to be honest.π₯
I am also in touch with teams within Oculus Research in Seattle and will interview few months down the line. One question I have is about their interview process. Is it similar to FB interview where one goes through generalist software + design interview along with domain specific interviews (computer vision, machine learning, etc depending on ones background)?
Yes
Pretty much. Aren't all tech company interviews like this these days? π

As far as I know when it comes to salary and comp FB uses the same formulas for everything they own.
