Which one to choose? 600k in startup might be worth less or more in 3 years. Base is the same.

400k at Ms is amazing. It will be worth 600k in some time. Unless you truly believe in the startup why take the risk? Not sure what level you're at, but if you're lower level and are getting 400k at Ms you're super lucky, don't throw it away.

If there is a recession, most startups will crash hard. Microsoft has enough cash in the bank to get through without slowing down. It comes down to your risk tolerance.
Microsoft has had major layoffs in the past. They will cut you like any other company to make numbers.
