Poll for my friend Offer1: SDE2 @ Dell @ Seattle TC: Base: 120K Bonus: 5% Sign-on: 8k Pros: 1) Will be in a team doing storage tech, and dell has a good position w.r.t. the market share 2) Seattle, better for hiking, lower live expense, more geat IT firms here 3)Better WLB? Cons: 1) Lower TC 2) Some layoff news at Dell Offer2: SDE @ Bloomberg @ NYC TC: Base:145K Bonus: 20K Pros: 1) Better Job Security, especially for me as I will need H1b sponsorship 2) Better company perks (longer paid annual leave, free NYC museums) 3) More like IT firms (massive financial data to deal with) 4) A litter after-tax TC Cons: 1) Team match after employee training, some uncertainty 2) higher living expenses for the same living conditions in NYC YOE: 0, new grad master For the city I may prefer Seattle, as I prefer outdoor activities and driving cars around. But for the career growth and job security I am not sure. There is also a rent proposed H1b wage level policy that may worth taken into consider #software #engineering #dell #bloomberg Both are final offer, non-negotiable.

How is team match after training a con? After experiencing it myself, I think it’s a lot better than being assigned a team prior to joining- especially when you’re able to meet everyone and make a decision not only based on what the team does, but also how the team culture is.
