Hello Blind, Interviewed a bunch lately and was fortunate to get some great offers, 15 in total but I've just listed out the top competitors here, please help me pick. Priorities: 1a. TC 1b. WLB 2a. Growth 2b. Stability 3. Benefits 4. Culture Offer Comparison Format: 1. Base / Total Equity / Signing Bonus / Annual Perf Cash Bonus 2. Blind TC: Base + Annual Perf Cash Bonus + (Total Equity / 4) + (Signing Bonus / 4) 3. Avg TC per year: (Total Compensation over 4 years including meets expectations refreshers and 3% base salary raise) / 4 4. Pros: 5. Cons: L5 @ Google: 1 190K / 369K / 0 / 28.5K 2. 310.75K 3. 367.63K (calculated with 120K over 4 years refreshers per year) 4. Pros: * Full remote * I have experience in the problem space the team is working in * Google stability with a potential market correction coming up * Skip manager seems great, really nice and strong background, tenured Googler * Very mature team, lots of L5s, so good support in place to help me adapt if needed 5. Cons: * GCP WLB is hit or miss * Moving from Amazon internal tooling to Google internal tooling doesn't give a lot of open-source exposure * Less growth, much tougher to get to Staff L5 @ Pinterest 1. 220K / 950K / 90K / 0 2: Blind TC: 480K 3. Real Avg TC/year: 554K (Calculated w/ 170K over 4 years refresher per year) 4. Pros: * WLB seems good * Manager and team seem smart and really nice * Cool Infra team and lots of open-source tech * Potential for stock bounce back as Pinterest monetizes more. 5. Cons: * Stock on a big slump post-pandemic and is trying to find growth in international markets which is generally tough * Personally I've barely ever used the product so not too interested L5a @ Uber 1. 188K / 975K / 30K / 35K 2. Blind TC: 474K 3. Real Avg TC/year: 528K (Calculated w/ 120K over 4 years refresher per year) 4. Pros: * Entire team is in NYC and I can be in Seattle so essentially full remote * Uber recently reached adjusted profitability * Uber eats ads team so pretty important to the success of the org 5. Cons: * Uber's stock has barely grown since IPO * Doordash seems to be running away with the lead in this market * Some rumors of bad attrition levels in Uber Senior @ Brex: 1. Pick your split with 460K TC + 40K signing 2. Blind TC: 470K 3. Real Avg TC/year: 507K (Brex has no refreshers but 5% TC growth per year for meets expectations) 4. Pros: * Pre-IPO potential and incredible trajectory (Founded 2017, 2021 worth 12.3B) * Easiest company to get to staff level at * Great talent and very low attrition, manager and teammates seem extremely smart * Product team that's really critical to the company's goals * Full remote 5. Cons: * Pre-IPO WLB I've heard from members of the team usually 40 hours at worst 50-55 hours during a crunch before a launch * Product team with tough deadlines (I could move teams later though if it was bad) * Offer is at 12.3B valuation * Even at 12.3B there's a chance they don't IPO and the paper money is useless IC4 @ Roblox: 1. 268K / 1.092M / 35K / 0 2. Blind TC: 550K (634K due to stock spike) 3. Real Avg TC/year: 614K (Calculated w/ 140K over 4 years refresher per year) (696K due to stock spike) 4. Pros: * Like the company and the mission to platformize gaming * Team is important to the success of monetizing Roblox * Stock is growing fast * Attrition is low * Higher level (Senior 2) 5. Cons: * Don't want to move to Cali so this isn't going to be an option in the poll below * Lots of the tech stack is C# * WLB seems just ok * Manager seems very work focused and not that fun or interested, L4 @ Snap: 1. 170K / 534K / 77K / 17K 2. Blind TC: 390K 3. Real Avg TC/year: 397K (No refreshers, only using base salary 3% increase) 4. Pros: * Company has shown the ability to adapt to a new generation of users * Stock is low so potentially a good time to join 5. Cons: * Stock might not bounce back, hurt by iOS privacy changes * Lower level Other offers: Linkedin, HBOMax, Grab, Asana, Qualtrics, VMware, Clumio, Harness, Remitly Location: SEA TC: 250K Yoe: 5 with Bachelors I'm currently leaning towards Brex due to the IPO potential and I would pick a high-equity split for my offer. Something like 175K base, 285K equity per year. Google also honors an HC approval for a year, so if I really don't like Brex there's potential to leave and still use my Google offer within the year or just interview again and hopefully, I can get some similar offers again. #google #uber #pinterest #roblox #brex #snap #facebook #amazon #microsoft #linkedin #offer #faang #ipo #plaid #ramp #stripe #databricks
How long did it take you to interview with these many companies?
Damn !! How did you find time to study for these interviews and what was your strategy? You must be some kind of a genius
Damn only 5 yoe and you’re getting these offers. What’s your secret?
Congrats on these offers OP. This is how to post offers on Blind.
Those are some insane numbers. But I don't have any tips since I don't have first hand experience in any of these
Congrats. How did you find a fully remote team in Google? Do you mind sharing which team this is? I am in team matching stage and trying to find a fully remote team.
I didn't ask for full remote just got lucky in that regard. Team isn't full remote it's just in Sunnyvale and they're not requiring me to move so I can be remote or in any of the Seattle / Kirkland offices
Curious why uber calls it cash bonus, i mean i get it, but is almost the same as a second signing bonus And i agree pre ipo potential makes brex the most attractive choice Could you explain what are the limits of 'pick your split', like I'm pretty sure 97% 1% 1% 1% is not possible or is it?
Split base and stock among the 460k, you cant split vesting schedule.
Base salary has to be above 100K and below 90% of TC, those are the limitations
What title did you put on your resume? In a similar situation, L4 at Google, 4 YOE 405k TC, am wondering whether I should reveal level to recruiters to interview for Senior.
Just here to say congrats on your offers. Thats amazing. I am an L6 and struggling to find time to interview. And the visa situation doesnt allow me the luxury to quit and interview.
Those numbers are CA TC, right?
Nope every offer is for Seattle
Except Roblox I guess
