Hello, Posting for a friend here. My friend has completed CPA and will graduate with a Masters in Prof. Accounting from top 5 schools in the US in June 2024. Previous Education: Bachlors + Masters in Accounting and is a Chartered Accountant (equi. of CPA in India) YOE: 6 (3 intern + 3 full time) in India. Position: Audit Assurance at San Francisco, CA. Is the offer fair ? Will they give relocation assistance ? #EY #deloitte #ey #pwc #finance #fpa #corpfinance
I think your friend should ask if they can give a higher position Senior Consultant/Senior associate which is auditor L2. Pretty much every grad gets promoted after 2 years of experience so I don’t see any reason why they don’t offer her that with 3 YOE Unless they have some doubts about Indian work experience. Just clear the air with the recruiter/manager because these Big4 always are screwing international students/grads up with bad offers.
Yeah. Sound right. Will try for this.
high offer for position
Any ideas on similar roles in Amazon ? What’s the comp. like in Amazon for such roles ? Will they be L5-L6 ?
L4, L5 if they nail the interview and there is a need for L5.
84k for someone in finance with 6Yoe and CPA is a joke. I'm from India too. Did btech ece, then ms economics and worked in Houston starting at 70k as a FA, the. sr FA and left that job at 120k in 2.5yrs. in Houston. So 84k is a joke.
Pm me if they'd like to apply for jobs at MSFT. I'm in MSFT now.
Unless OP has prior Big4 experience, no way they will be considered for Senior. This is a fresh grad offer. Generally, Big4s recruit undergrads and train them like monkeys.
And people in tech are crying for less than 200k base offer
thank christ i didnt do accounting
Sadly experience out of the US is worth 0 unless it’s another big market like UK or Australia. After two years at big 4, that salary will jump up dramatically. I have 4 years of experience, Masters from top school but no CPA, 1 year at big 4 and just got a role for 170K base + equity. TC 200K. TLDR; good offer to get foot in door, salary will get exponentially better quickly
After you spent 2 years at Big4 in Accounting related fields, how did your comp. jump to 170k base and equity in a big4 firm ? Or did you move to bigTech (Amazon, Google) for that jump.
I left PwC for a semi-established startup and then left after two years for this role. ~2 years at each role has been the sweet spot for to grow my salary quickly. If you can get a role at a company in the lead up to their IPO that’s the best experience you can get. It makes you super marketable and unique which translates to $$.
Is this tax audit or IT audit? Either way it’s definitely not low
The sign on bonus is the relocation assistance. They don’t need to offer additional relocation assistance because there’s tons of accountants fresh out of school who will take that position
Wow that’s gonna be hard to survive in Bay
Seems strong for associate accountant. The issue is she actually an associate with 6 yoe??
My friend has 3 years of intership & 3 years of relevant full-time accounting work experience with Indian and global clients.
these mofos in hr don't count out of US experience. f them all
