Offer Evaluation: SRIB 2023 Campus grad Currently I am working in a Company joined in August stable govt. company , and I have an offer of SRIB, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, In my current company the work that I am doing is pathetic, no where related to engineering its mostly word file, Excel and testing and the company culture is very bad (Every other day someone gets scold very very bad and for taking leave your manager wants to know every detail and still might not approve (feels like slavery is yet not abolished here) and your manager can ask you to go some outside location on every other day in the scorching heat and it would be around 8-9pm till you return back from the site). For leaving my current company I would have to pay them 1 Lakh if i leave within a year of joining Current company has notice period of 3 months if i leave after probation of 1 year And if I join SRIB I would not want to leave before 2 yrs , i.e before end of 2025 because I cant keep switching and If I stay in my current company I can try switching in mid 2024 , but then my notice period will be 3 months(which i believe any company dont wait for 3 months) and I would not have anything to write in my resume because no work is being done here On the monthly basis SRIB is paying 4-5k less(I dont know about the money growth in SRIB , in my current company its very slow it works on government rules) and I have listened Similar things about SRIB about the type of work(have listened only did not know the exact picture). Cost of living in my current city(near to home also can go every weekend) is cheap I got everything done under 12k and don't know much about bangalore (very far from home) My long term goal is to do good work and earn big money I don't want to depend on the company and and don't want to feels like being a burdon on the company What should I do switch and Join SRIB or not? SRIB offer : 14 lpa base with pf(company contribution also)and gratuity include 1 lpa bonus joining and 1 lpa retention bonus #developersIndia #swe #offerevaluation #work #bangalore #tech #softwareIndustry

Add some details about Samsung offer - designation, salary. SRIB is quite bad as well in terms of culture but if you survive, growth is decent. Btw, you should not think of SRIB as a final destination, more like a stopover for even better jobs because both Samsung and Bangalore will open lot of doors for you. Also, since you're a fresher, you should not limit yourself in terms of how long you want to stay in Samsung, in intial phase of career, 2-3 switches in < 3 years is ok. So finally, I would suggest go for SRIB, give your best, enjoy the Bangalore weather, don't sweat a lot about expenses but be ready to switch again after a year if needed.
+1 to Microsoft, in fact I would jump the ship in 1 year . Job market in 2024 is absolutely going to blast and be in Bangalore that time to witness yourself the hyper growth
Join SRIB. Career growth is good if you do some basic base requirements - like work on research , papers patents and deliver well on projects. Also clear SWC Advanced and Professional exams as early as possible as you join the company.
I have cleared advance test while giving interview and then later they scheduled pro, cleared that too
Is there any benifit of clearing these tests?
The tests will impact your performance reviews along with contribution to A1 Patents , international publications in the year.
Also Bangalore will have high cost of living compared to other cities - but future prospects of high income is also very high in the software engg domain so wortg moving
