Hi Blinders Please help me to evaluate this offer from VMware Cloud (VMC) Position: Staff 1 Base: 260K Bonus: 20% RSU: 350K / 4Y Sign On: 20K Hybrid with office location in Palo Alto, CA. Isn't the sign on bonus is too less compare to current market trends ? Please help me choose. P.S.: Onsite done with Palo Alto Network, waiting for decision. #tech #softwareengineer
Hope you are ok with VMware's layoffs....
vmw has enough attrition that no longer needs major rifs Also having hard time to backfill so rifs won't be back any time soon
Seems like a solid offer for staff, yoe?
Amazing offer..vmw is chill company..
Solid offer. Sign on bonuses aren't a typical part of offers at VMware, btw. Rare to see them over 10k-15k. It sounds like you're stuck on this and I'd urge you to look at the bigger picture. Would an extra 20k to your sign on make or break this offer for you? Also look at the other benefits + WLB. Note - bonuses are more heavily taxed so overall gain is minimal.
About your point of bonuses are more heavily taxed, this is simply not true. Lots of folks have this misconception. There is a difference between tax withholding and tax owed.
Congratulations OP! YoE?
YOE? Amazing offer!
Take it, solid for base for staff 1
Ask for 50k sign on. That is possible.
I will complete 6 years as Tech Lead (Grade 011) in Cisco and overall 16 years out of which 8 years in India of service company like TCS. I don't see much value of that experience in Bay Area.
