Offer Negotiation
Hi! I was offered a promotion from Office Assistant to Executive Assistant to the CEO. I have not received the comp yet but want to be prepared to negotiate, my current comp is $70k + $10k bonus. It is with a small (but wealthy) family office investment company in NYC. What is the going rate for an EA these days? Appreciate any feedback!
Typical promos (in any role) is around 10 to no more than 15% bump. I would think that asking for about 85k and settling for 80 would be acceptable. Bonus might be fixed at different levels based on salary grade - but if not, ask for 15% and see where it goes. Good luck!

EA's in the Seattle area make 80-100k. I would assume NYC and Seattle are similar.
Did you get the job? I would imagine that in NYC the salary request should be at or above $100,000.
The key is being able to present numbers and impact created as a result of your support as Office Assistant. How many projects did you lead or support? How much time/revenue did the projects save the company? How much money did each project make the company?
