Current TC: 220k Yoe: 9 Interviewed with Meta for E5. Got downleveled to E4. Meta TC: 320K (190K base / 450K stocks over 4 years / 75K sign on) I have another offer from OCI for IC4 (Principal SWE). Oracle TC: 300K (200k base / 400k stocks over 4 years / 0 sign on) Meta will have guaranteed 15% bonus. Oracle does not. From what I heard Meta also gives 75k RSUs for meets expectations rating. No such thing for Oracle. Also Meta promotes quickly so I am hoping to reach E5 in 2 years? And once I do then I will get 150k annual refreshers as E5. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. Given all that what would you pick?

That’s a rich offer for E4 Seattle. Guessing because of your YOE. In any case do consider Meta stock is at an all time high. You will be richer at Meta most likely. If you are the type who constantly compare yourself with your peers about level /seniority you may be happier at Oracle. Expect a lot of young E5s at Meta. I personally know a 24 year old E5 there lol.

Slightly off topic but did you get any feedback as to why you were downleveled? Back on topic, how are you energy levels? Meta WLB will be a whole lot different than Oracle’s. I would weigh that in.
Is oracle's wlb better than meta? I have heard that even ocis is equally bad
As always, it varies by team, but generally WLB is easily better at Oracle (from my recent sources).
So your Meta offer is actually even higher? 190k * 1.15 + 450k/4 + 75k/4 + 75k = 400k+ every year.
75k sign on is only one time. I am hoping if I get promoted to E5 then the annual refresher will be 160k/4 instead of 75k/4 so that will help bring TC up

Thanks! How long does it typically take to get promoted to E5 from E4? Can you also please explain the annual bonus structure? E4 gets 75k worth of RSUs for meets expectations and E5 gets 140k correct? Does that vest over 2 years or 1?
In MPK e5 refresher is 175k vesting over 4 years. You have 33 months to get promoted or you get fired.
