Hello folks, I'm pondering a change and would like your help. I'm currently at lyft and like my team (leadershipnot so much). Got a offer from pinterest which is a product I don't use but see the value of and the culture of company seems good. Also waiting for an instacart offer but team is TBD, i think their valuation is a bit stretched. Lyft tc - 350k, expecting promo mid year that should increase to 400k. Mediocre refreshers. Pinterest - 390k initial offer (I think I can negotiate to 420k + a small sign on). Great refreshers. Instacart - expecting a 450k offer. Have no idea about refreshers Thoughts? Update: Pinterest updated their offer to 410k + 40k sign on and I took it.
Can you split the TC by salary and RSUs? Pinterest is overvalued so unless the salary is high, ignore them.
Base is pretty high 220k. Why do you think pinterest is overvalued? I think it's the most reasonably valued out of the 3
They are getting crative with their indicators and reporting, usual red flags to keep stock value up before a crash. Recently claimed to have 86M uniques in the US, thats a 100% of tech enabled adult women in the US or counting visitors as actual users driving revenue
Does anybody know if instacart has refreshers or are you stuck in the first 4 years?
Yearly refreshers
Thanks buddy. Can you share the ballpark range for L5 refreshers?
Yoe and levels?
L4 at lyft, L5 at the others
yoe?
ipo market dwindling down. Not sure about the prospects of instacart at 39B valuation
Exactly. I would consider instacart more seriously if they had ipo'd and valuation had been adjusted like everyone else. As of now I would need to make my own assumptions of what they're worth.
Lyft -> Instacart ... Only if you have not learnt a lesson 😂
Ikr hahaha that's why I was leaning pinterest if they bump to 420k
With that offer from Pinterest, I wouldn't change. Also, rmbr Lyft is yet to recover from COVID .... Many companies announcing RTO would certainly help Lyft stock in near future. Evaluate your offers with that in mind. But Instacart is a big NO
Pinterest L5 could give up to 480K or more if you have competing offer. Definitely ask more TC utilizing the stock price concern
Do you refer to the recent offers or old ones? $480k sounds high for post-IPO, unless it’s MLE
Recent ones… The market is hot… 400-450K is really hard to hire L5…
YOE?
5 in role, 8 total
Instacart TC is not 450k. More like 200k+ with tons of lottery tickets
I don't disagree on that. Theyre not worth 39B but definitely worth 10-20B though.
But bear in mind that it might not ipo for a few years if it ever, given the crazy market crash right now. Even if it does ipo the stocks might “instatank” by 70%. By comparison stocks from Pinterest is volatile too. The question is would you stay at Instacart for a few years to see it ipo?
Definitely Pins, we keep hoping Lyft will be fine after covid but certainly something else will pop up and screw us. I’m out.
Pinterest is struggling a bit. Not very sure how they can monetize in the future.
This is the BS that is stated like fact. Did you even read Pinterest’s last earnings report? Full year gaap profitability, but sure “not very sure how they can monetize in the future” 🤦, when we’re already monetized. Either way op, congrats on the offer. It’s a list of companies with very strong competition so either choice is hard tbh.
Sorry if I offended. Fwiw Pinterest has been a company that is my in shortlist
