TikTok e-commerce 2-2 tc: 450k (280 base, 40signon, 70% is cash+signon) Plaid E5 tc: 430k (220 base) Yoe: 6 I have some fintech/e-commerce background and want to work in the same area so both fits me. Plaid has better culture and wlb but the concern is around the valuation/growth and IPO TikTok pays higher cash but is known for toxic culture and wlb. The team is in China/singapore, expecting to have late night meetings everyday Which company is better for career growth in either fintech or e-commerce? Which one is better on resume?
Where’s the poll?
What’s the TikTok breakdown? And what’s the stock buyback plan for employees like?
Updated, the new stock vesting is 20,25,25,30 with one-year cliff
Congrats! 🎉 At what valuation is plaid offering the RSUs? I heard they had lowered their fair valuation compared to the 13B valuation from 2021. I would take Plaid! 🤙🏻 maybe negotiate a sign on.
I don’t know the exact valuation but it is lower than last round
I would love to work at plaid fintech >> tech
What is plaid valued at?
Im curious too what we’re telling the new hires.
SE? Or pm
If you’re not Asian, progression might be harder at TikTok.
Its easier for non-Asian in TikTok, the career growth might not be the best but life is def much better
What role is this for?
Plaid is bloated in terms of valuation. But might have better work culture but maybe prone to layoffs . I would go to tiktok. Were you laid off from instacart?
Unfortunately yes, got impacted
How were you able to get offers so fast. Were you interviewing before
