Amazon: standard 252k L5 SDE. Full stack web dev. Startup: valued at 50M now, 160k + 2.5% vested in 4 years. Hybrid work style. Algorithm/ML infra engineer Appreciate any suggestions! Thank you people.
Dont go to a startup that will only enrich the founders. You may get fired without any notice and severance
Sounds like Amazon to me, lmao
Amazon at least gives you a few months before pipping. Trust me, Amazon is better
In your case I will say Amazon
Thanks. Can you elaborate? My thoughts are career growth could be very limited in amazon. Also the chance of startup going bankrupt vs. getting PIPed from Amazon are comparable
Startups are better places to learn IMHO, you can for example wear and switch more hats without asking so many permissions, but big techs are good too in certain other aspects. So essentially I don't have an opinion about the vs. question, it depends basically on you now, what you want for your next years, apparently there is no bad choice. Good luck on the decision! I wish you success on that.
Thank you!
Make this a poll

Amazon vs <<anything>> Choose <<anything>>* .... *as long as it's not ByteDance or Roblox.
Haha thanks. But Iβm curious why Roblox is out too
Aside from the discrimination, toxicity, lack of WLB, terrible management, lack of long-term viability, terrible tech stack, lack of innovation, useless top-down management, and company badge tracking? They keep the offices too cold.
