-Costco- Position: Quality Assurance Hybrid (3days office) Base 110K (no bonus or RSU) -Walmart- Position: System admin, infra On site everyday Base 93k + 5%annual bonus (no RSU) Which is better?
System engineer is better, you can move to dev ops easily
Go to walmart and chill.
Location?
Are you a contractor OP?
No both FTE
Out of curiosity, isn’t this pay low in Washington? Are you being underpaid?
Walmart
These will set you up for two different career paths, decide which is preferable for you. QA seems pretty unpleasant so I'd recommend Walmart
Even though my walmart job is like system admin managing AD, intune, byod, and so on?? Nothing engineering.. not even automation or antthing devop as well..
It's not ideal but at least you are developing some sort of relevant skills, and if you want to go into SRE/Devops it will probably look better on your resume. I don't have much insight into either of these paths. My experience from my old company was that the QA on my team got way less pay than devs, way more work, and spent the entire day doing tasks from a predefined list of steps. They seemed really unhappy. Obviously this is just anecdotal from one startup but it is worth figuring out what career path you'd like to take. SRE and devops get paid roughly the same as SWE
Where do you commute from? Do you know what team?
Yikes is everyone at Walmart tech now required to be in 5 days per week?
Costco has never had a lay off and is a typically very ethical company. That was important to me when I chose and offer with them. And because they promote so much within, Costco has a lot of opportunities for growth… and free parking. It’s not too bad here. As for the offers, 3 days a week in office and more money? I’d go with Costco
Are these tech salaries from Stone Age ?
Unfortunately they are only option i have without clding experience...
