So I have two competing offers and wanted to get a sense from the community if I am making a big mistake Current TC: 0 (NW 10M and been living off dividends) Meta M2. First year TC: 850k Director role at biotech company: 800k Biotech sector is interesting to me. It's down a lot over the past couple years. And I believe it has significant upside. YOE 15 I haven't negotiated, but realistically I feel I won't get more than 50k on top.
It's this swe m2? Seems very low for meta
Yes swe. What do you think the average TC for that role? The whole market is cold. I suspect they are only sending offers on the low end of the range.
Is this mpk or some other location? What's the offer breakdown? This is the lowest I have seen
Curious why do you think biotech has significant upside? What are the potentials for that industry?
I don't have strong insights. Meta is up 120% at 1.2T. how much higher can it go. I doubt it will double anytime soon. Biotech sector is down 50% and at all time low over past 5 years. I feel there is an over reaction and easier to imagine it popping 30% up. Obviously I don't have a magic ball
Both are doomed, if m2 is asking such a question...
Do what interests you at 10 mm nw, you’ll be happier chasing the work you enjoy.
Can you break down the offers Base bonus equity and sign on? Ex Meta M2, I can share my pov. Also how are you living off just dividends at 10M. I’m at 7M not counting inheritance (15M) and no way can I live off dividends in HCOL. My burn rate is too high -15-20k/month
Bay Area ?
Yes
M2 comp should top $1m.
That meta m2 offer is shit?
If you decide to take the meta M2 offer, can you please refer me to the biotech company.
I took the biotech role. They bumped my TC to 900k
Congrats!!!!!! Thanks, for the update. I am sending you a DM, to know a couple more details.
50k after that tax bracket is barely anything. You are beyond the range to worry about TC. Do what you enjoy
