Have 4 offers from fintech/banks: Morgan Stanley - 210k Blackrock - 240k + equity sign on Barclays - 240k Goldman - probably be in the same range Role : VP/tech lead YOE 6 TC 220K Any suggestions about which company to join in terms of work life balance, culture or long term career growth. #fintech #offerevalautation
Avoid GS, WLB is bad and tech is very outdated. Heard interesting things of blackrock but never worked there so can’t opine.
None of those roles are fintech, they are squarely in the financial services space. It depends on what you want to do with your life but if you want to ever move into tech focused roles, it’ll be much easier from Bloomberg to FAANG than any of those to FAANG. Also why would you jump for such a small bump? You should at least demand 270 for an approx 20% jump.
Wlb is great at BLK , you could get around with 4-5hrs a day after 1-2 yrs But doesn't make sense to jump for small TC increase
Is BLK hard to get into like FANG or like banks. I like asset management but not sure how interesting alladin would be
it's not hard definitely not at as hard as fang. Mostly the interviews are team dependent.
I heard raises were good this year at BBG tho?
F**k they pay 🥜
$240k -potentially $200k might be your base and equity (guess 2 years vesting schedule ) . Last year BLK equity was around $950, best time to join ,WLB is good across the organization.
Don't join morgan Stanley. Will never see a raise for years on end plus wlb can be terrible with weekend work in many lobs. Better off at Bloomberg
OP, what’s your BlackRock role, how much is your sign on
Blackrock -$240 is base? or which includes bonus ? What’s RSU numbers ?
Hate to say it but better off at BB probably.
