I recently received an offer from FB as an IC4: Base: $118K Sign on bonus: $15K (pre tax) Equity: $48K Bi-Annual Bonus: 10% can someone tell me if this is a good offer or if I should ask for more? I thought the RSU was pretty low in comparison with my current. I have about 3 years of working experience.
In FB there is not much pressure on non-engineer. So TC looks good. Congrats
What do you mean by pressure, like work pressure to deliver?
Rat race
Non-engineer at FB here. That's a pretty good offer for 3yr experience. The equity seems in line too. Good luck!
What about 15 years? Whats a good offer for non engineer
Really depends on the nature of your experience and the team you're joining. I'd expect a TC of $350K with 15years experience at least.
Role? Band depends on role.
This. “Non-engineer” is not enough information to evaluate this offer. PM vs. data science vs. HR vs. operations vs. Sales vs. .... all have different comp. Also somewhat location dependent, not all roles have identical comp across all US locations. Note also that % bonus is fixed by level and non-negotiable.
What would be for Data Scientist Analytics with 2 YOE. I think their band is higher
What do you mean by non-engineer? TPM/PM?
Sorry all, I should have clarified. Located in Menlo Park. And the role is in operations
With counter offer(s), base and RSUs can go up by 5-10% and 10-15% respectively. PS - I’m a senior IC in Ops at Menlo Park.
48K for 4 years sounds very low compared to what IC4 engineers make. More in a year probably
Non eng is anywhere from 25-50% equity compared to swe and mle
When I joined at IC4 ops, I got same base and no-sign on. My rsu was $30k. Since I had no counters they won't go up higher. I joined bc Facebook is my dream company. Now three years later I became very resentful bc my peers all make 50% more than me even though I EE every half since I joined. About to switch jobs
How’s your journey been over the years - in terms of TC and level YoY, if you don’t mind sharing? Thanks!
Joined at IC4, but IC5 now. Only making $20k more on base. Consistently getting $30k refresher. Yep, very pathetic
I’m surprised at the base, my offer a year ago was 107k base at IC3. Only 30k equity and no sign on bonus though.
