Senior developer. In the final rounds of eBay, Reddit, Toast and New York times. All okay with remote. Trying to negotiate to 175k base
YOE and current TC?
It's up there.
Pick Toast!
Any specific reason for you to say that?
Ebay will pay 🥜
Really?? I thought they'd be somewhere around 180-200 plus RSU and joining bonus.
Turo would be too risky to join in current market conditions, if that’s one of the considerations
Well it definitely is. But I looked at their layoffs that happened in the near past and looks like they did a good job with handling that.
But i think it’s more about probability of getting laid off, if the business case is not strong even good leadership can’t do much.
What is restricted cash and how does it work?
Same as RSU. You just get 0.25 it at the end of each year.
In a risky market, and them being a high burn company, layoffs are justifiable at any moment. I was laid off from Turo during the start of COVID and the severance was a middle finger. I’m actually surprised they haven’t started layoffs again due to their cash position. My .02
The people there are dope though, every Eng manager can be a good friend!
There are lot of companies on verge of it. You need to give them another 3-6 months
Did you end up accepting the offer?
Seems good for Dallas. What was the interview process like? For reference: 11 YOE 230k TC
First technical round where they asked me to build an app, gave me 2 days for it and then discussed that in the first round. Had 2 more rounds after.. One technical and the other with a hiring manager.
Did they have a LC round
