Returned to the office today, begrudgingly...noticed they've put in some "upgrades" (collaboration tables in open floor plan, additional conference rooms, phone booths to take personal calls, pelatons in the gym, etc...) seems companies are forcing RTO because of these office investments and executives wanting easy access to their people (a call or message is too inconvenient, would rather ask someone to come by their office quickly if they need something). Curious, after having returned, what is everyone's preferred # of days in the office? Also, thoughts on if all companies will eventually be back to 5 days? I don't see hybrid working, so I personally want 0 days in the office. #returntooffice #on-site #hybrid
Everyone is on the same level in a zoom call. Executives can divide the line with peasants with their offices, etc. Show you who’s boss
I’d prefer remote with a couple days per month when everyone comes into the office to feel connected. This allows people to live wherever they want while also providing opportunities to meet their coworkers face to face.
I highly doubt they're forcing anyone back to the office BECAUSE of these investments, it's much more likely that they're trying to entice you back to the office WITH these investments.
Oooooh, thanks for the fancy coffee maker. … I’d rather die from dehydration than have a soul sucking commute to do what I’m already doing at home.
