Okta offer

I have accepted Sr. SWE offer with okta. Considering the recent layoffs at multiple Saas companies, I am not sure if it’s a good time to join okta. Are there any talks about potential layoffs? TC - 280k #tech #okta

Okta is probably a fairly safe one to join, they’re a business critical tool for the customers they serve. Might see a slowdown in growth, but doubt they’d see actual drops in revenue or customers leaving like an ads based business might.

You should consider accepting rather than excepting the offer.

What's your YOE and offer breakdown? Negotiating an offer right now

Can’t say if it’s safe long term. Feel like we are living quarter to quarter at this point.

Same here. Accepted offer last week. Although a bit worried about layoffs, I do not believe their future is dull. SaaS companies will cut marketing, Recruiters, AEs, BDRs first before dipping into Engineering. Stock should have modest 20-30% upside potential in coming years once they lay off the fat and keep the good folks and focus on Sales.

Although okta is ubiquitous in most companies now a days, they did increase there headcount a lot in last 2 years and are still unprofitable. Likely there will be trimming.
