The okta job is post-sales implementation. Basically doing full stack web dev for enterprise customers. No on-call rotation. Great WLB after speaking to some folks on team. Sounds like a solid 15-20 hours a week. I’d be the second most senior person on this team and pretty much run my schedule, create my own tasks, etc. I could reach principal within 3-4 years and that would take me to about 200-230k tc maximum. Meta is a great opportunity will way higher ceiling obviously. But, I’ve dealt with high TC / high stress / high PIP once at AWS already. So not sure if I want to risk all that. But the pay is so much higher and can grow a lot by E6/E7
Just go to meta and keep your interview skills semi sharp. Dip in a year if you can't stand it.
Considering this. Basically what I did at AWS though. At some point I gotta learn from my mistakes 🥹
Lol same, except I haven't touched leetcode since I joined 2 years ago, regret that a ton... now I don't have the time or energy to leetcode outside of work. Did you get a feel for the meta team's culture from potential teammates or hiring manager?
Id take meta, come on. Understand the concern but exit opportunities will be there if you want to bounce again. It’s not a huge deal imo
If you don’t want stress stay away from Meta! All the worst teams are hiring now.
What teams are good? I'd like to make a good decision if I pass
All the bad teams are hiring right now. All the good teams that were hiring would have already been taken by internal transfers
Bonus is 15% not 10
EMs at meta are hiring for pip fodder
Source?
this is BS ^. most EMs at meta who are managing E4s have 0 expectation of meeting curves.
Meta may be high stress, and chances are that you can't endure 4+ years there. But you will learn a lot, it's worth trying. Looks awesome on resume too
I am at Okta and just signed a meta offer. I wouldn’t recommend jump on the okta ship, morales low. Products great, strategy seems long term but I think their some short term churn coming soon. (I’m an IC I know nothing about this, just bad vibes)
Same
I feel like no one can answer this question for you. It's based on your own goals and tolerance for more work with higher TC
Such a bs post. You are gonna go with meta, go wag your d**k somewhere else

Okta sounds super low IMO. I’m at a random startup as senior product and my cash comp is 200+
It is low comparative to most TC on blind for sure. But 3 hours of low stress work per day gives me a better per hour pay too. Something I’m considering.
Are you hiring?
