Okta vs Walmart
What will you choose if they are offering same title and similar compensation? Factors important to me: 1. work life balance 2. good culture 3. no or less night time calls Interviewing for senior leadership roles outside of US. current TC: 600K (in US)
For each of your 3 criteria, Walmart is just the opposite: 1. work life balance sucks at Walmart 2. Very toxic culture, dominated by Indians 3. Every day late night & early morning calls
Pretty much. And our benefits are terrible. Every day fucking low cost is the motto. You will hate your life and yourself here.
Okta is Toxic af too. You’ll be stabbed in the back and stymied and have layoffs held over your head by your incompetent manager, who force you to do soul destroying work that has no impact.

Okta >> Walmart in every sense. They rebranded their ugly blue circle logo to black circle with spikes so it look nice. Just take layoff in consideration. Walmart might be safe from layoff.
Avoid walmart, its exactly opposite to the factors that are important to you. Its has the worst work culture.
Majority of okta work in North American so you'll be having lots of night time calls
Okta no brainer unless it’s a shitshow. It’s working with India non stop everyday here at Walmart. And both engineering and product are terrible here. Do not join. You’ve been warned. Also the other way applies. India needs to work with the US everyday so it’s literally awful and a slave shop over there. Screaming managers and belittling employees is the norm at our IDC
There are a lot of great places in Okta, so I’d agree
I work at Okta. You will get 2. 1 3 is not possible. Plus, high stress high perf. People are kicked out if they don't work out.
Hard disagree on the good culture. Maybe a few years ago, but no longer.
