You get little time and guidance to learn the company’s development and release processes, struggle to understand the culture, and barely feel connected to your new coworkers. Who would’ve thought being able to walk up to someone and ask a question would be a luxury. I’d rather work from an office a few times a week than do this full remote thing. #hybrid #remotework #wfh
Disagree
Completely disagree. You probably just are bad at remote work. It’s okay — it’s not for everyone. There are soooo many in-office companies for you to leave and go to instead.
Disagree. HubSpot and my previous company have excellent remote onboarding.
OP - Not everyone is cut to excel in remote work. You clearly need more handholding and should consider a RTO job.
Lol, was it different in the office before? It'd take weeks to get acclimated, then some 3 months to feel "part" of the team, then anywhere between 3-6 months to actually feel properly effective in the systems you are working with. Also, walking up to someone to ask a question is one of the things I hated the most about office culture, don't fucking annoy me with your interruptions while I'm focused because you are a restless excited newcomer, it will cost me much more in productivity than you waiting for a few more minutes to get the answers your heart desires. It will probably take me 5 minutes so just sit on your ass for a while until I can get the time to focus on you. I never felt at home and embedded in a company's culture before 1 year of working, and I've been in this industry for 20+ years. So yeah, it doesn't matter if remote or not, it will take time, just get used to it instead of whining.
It's unrealistic to expect you to be onboarded within two days. Joining a new company takes time. Not just a week.
Totally agree. So many WFH people are in denial
Believe me grass is not greener on the other side
