I finally logged into my brokerage accounts after a few years. And it has been an abysmal investment strategy. We have 11% growth, with many many stocks in the red (fucking DocuSign, Tesla, for instance). 2055 retirement plan has done decently in the 401k, fortunately. How has others' experience been? Average return? Also, our 11% is over the 6 years, not per year, in case that's the assumption. Lol Edit: not all the buys were 6 years ago. I have been buying garbage every now and then, but hadn't logged in for 30 months. So, cost basis isn't exactly from 6 years ago.
How are you invested in single stocks and not monitoring growth on a regular basis?
ADHD and difficult life
Stop stock picking
About 60% of portfolio is index funds. And yet this fuck up. I'll move everything to an index and stfu
I've had 29% average return per year since 2016. I'm mostly in s&p 500, qqq, fang and crm. Whatever you are doing, you are doing it wrong.
Really? Dude. That's retirement and live a peaceful live money if I had been good with investing. Dang. I'm definitely doing it wrong. Grew up without spare money, and never learned about investments. Hopefully today's the day I start learning the right things
What's your Sharp ratio?
You didnt continue investing over the last few years when we had the biggest macro headwinds in almost a decade?
Big mistake. I've been contributing to 401k etc, but most of the money sat as cash or in these.shitty stocks. Not financially smart :(
How is this even possible? Tesla up 710% over 5 years, DocuSign flat
See edit
It's ok dude. Throw it all in VOO, QQQ, VT and log off for another 6 years. Time heals
I think you’re being displayed the wrong number. Could be a bug due to stock split Over the last 6 yr for Tesla: Annual Return 39.77% Total Return 618.05% Docusign is also flat from 6 yr ago
OP must have employed that buy high, sell low strategy 😂
Definitely did that. Tesla is down 45% since I bought it
Makes no sense. Docusign is up 40% since 6 years ago. Tesla is up 800% from 6 years ago. Can you elaborate in what is happening in your account? When are you buying?
Most likely chased the stocks after a huge run up and now bag holding when most are out.
Exactly
Tesla was $20 6yrs ago. You are fake news
I'm so glad you have these investigative skills. No, really. I'm SOOOO glad
Pics of your account so we can dissect for you what you're doing wrong
Too many accounts, which is a problem too. But nah, I prefer not to share more details here

Why open after 6 years? Were you stranded on an island?
I'd be happier without any possessions, tbh. Way happier when I have time for myself and people.
Feel the same op. But most have family. Cant throw away all and escape☹️
