Heard from the HR that I was pretty close to a hire, and the HC debates a lot before making the decision. He also gives me some suggestions on areas for improvement. Is this believable? Or is it just the template for onsite feedback?
What were the suggested improvements
Like writing optimal code
Standard template
Even if it’s just the template, this LinkedIn template is very good, because it’s delivered in a caring and actionable way.
Hi there. Wondering how did you get an interview at LinkedIn?
Through referral
For what level you interviewed? Can you please share your interview experience?
Interviewed for senior ds - inference and algo. The interviews are mainly data coding (probability related coding) and machine learning questions (deep in theory).
I sit on HC. Bet your ass they debate and debate long. There are two parties. Your hiring manager and HC. If the mgr liked how you performed, he will fight for you. If he fights for you, HC needs to have a strong reason to reject you and that reason is communicated as an opportunity for growth, to you. LinkedIn is all about talent so minus the new grad junk interviewers, we take care of you.
Hey OP, how long did it take for you to get feedback after your onsite?
Two weeks
Thanks OP! My onsite was just two weeks ago and I’ve been ghosted by the recruiter ever since the onsite even though they told me they give feedback quickly (3-4 business days after panel feedback is received). I’m guessing I’m potentially in the running but not first choice and they are stringing me along as a backup. I’m assuming others have experienced similar.
