Hi Folks, I have an upcoming onsite with Target for Sr. Software engineer position. Wanted to know what is the difficulty level ? Should I expect LC easy/med or med/ hard? I couldn’t find much information about the interview process on other resources. Can someone please share his/her interview experience? They also have a 90min pair programming round which in lang specific. Any tips on what to expect in this round ? What type of ques do they ask ? I am not proficient in the language that they are expecting for this round, any tips on how to tackle such round ? Yoe:1.5 Tc:150k #Target #sweopportunities #jobsearch #engineering #software #swe
They can ask to creat a small app , some api calls here there with db connections etc. should be fairly easy!
What is the difficulty of other coding rounds ? I cannot find LC section for questions asked at target. Also does target ask system design in one of the round ?
Target doesn't ask LC, or if they do they are LC easy (Two Sum is the only one I've ever heard being asked)
New grad to senior?
It would be mostly a medium difficulty. Pair programming would be designing an API, how well OO principles are implemented.
FYI, expect a TC with that YOE of around 100-105K.
But isnt the role sr level ?
Yeah that's the pay for a senior with low experience. Non-senior (L4) would be 85k. Senior tops out around 120-130 depending on experience, but most hires don't start at that, especially not under 2 YOE.
What was your Amazon sdet interview like was it just LC? Or anything specific to testing?
I am not a sdet
your current total comp is at a mid lead level for target. as far as the interview questions go, expect 1 system design, 2 behavioral, and the pair programming is going to be a medium-ish depending on which they choose to do.

Why Amazon to Target?
Anywhere is better than Amazon.
That's my boy. Amazon is bad.
