Iโm doing Communications at Intel, my contract ends on Jan. 15th and I kinda need a job (+ I feel bad for making my parents spend their money on me bc the market sucks ๐ ) I withdrew from my (pretty good) school to work on stuff in my free time to varying degrees of success. OpenAI doesnโt seem to care about credentials and I think I could offer a lot. Can anyone point me to anyone/anywhere that can help? The role seems like something I can feasibly do and work really hard on. is ur startup still around and if not was it acquired? all the power to you for dropping out to pursue ur goals but go on linkedin and see how many uni dropouts are in openai.
no it died (my co-founders graduated and we wanted to do different stuff) iโm not saying this is an easy goal, which is mostly why iโm here. iโm just throwing a hail mary while i re-evaluate my situation.
well man ur still young and I honestly don't think your chances are high to put it politely. I think your chances are close to nil if u go thru the traditional process since recruiters will have thousands of candidates for the type of roles ur going for. they're simply going to see that u dropped out and think ur not worth the risk unless u got something that can make up for dropping out. dropping out is a commitment issue, u can be smart af but ur young n don't have experiences or projects to show for it outside of some internships.
