Airbnb is probably the best suited travel company to survive as they are a platform and do not actually own any of the assets (houses, planes, etc) plus they own the brand. They are the Kleenex of short term rentals. Why would they go out of business?
Not really.. I mean they have a cost structure which is not suited for survival. Oh you have hard assets you can use that to borrow money
Huh? They have no monthly payments on property or airlines. You don't need to borrow a ton of money when your burn rate is easy to control. Also airbnb already did raise money from some of the largest investors in the world and laid off a large portion of the workforce while travel is on hold. Delta wishes they could be like Airbnb or Hilton.
All those foreclosures are going to be bad for destination cities.
All major hotel chains will go before Airbnb.
Unlike Uber, Airbnb is trying to replace the status quo with an inferior experience. Hotels > Airbnb
Hope Airbnb goes out of business and a company with a better culture replaces it.
Don’t think they’ll go out of the business, but road to recovery is gonna be challenging.
