Options after layoff

I was recently laid off. After applying to 75+ PM jobs (both junior, same and more senior roles) I am only getting responses and interviews for roles that are more junior than my last position with significantly less pay. Should I take this to avoid a long gap in my experience? Im open to wait it out for a similar position/pay. Alternatively, I've thought about starting my own thing, not requiring VC funding. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete. I have plenty of runway for 18-24+ months. Wanted to get thoughts from other PM’s in a similar situation. TC: peanuts (after being laid off)

I don’t get this thinking. Why would you NOT take up the low paying job and just HOPE you’ll find something better in the future. Just take up whatever and keep interviewing? Less money is still more money than no money.

Great a point.

Say you take this junior PM role temporarily while applying. Would you leave this junior role off your resume and LI when you are applying to more senior roles? Just thinking about the optics for hiring manager / recruiter.
