Hello, TC: 200k GBP (140k base, 60k bonus) YOE: 11 I got contacted by a recruiter for a position at Optiver Amsterdam, for their Trading technology team. He explained me that their base salary is quite low and capped to 75k euros, but I would be getting most of my salary in marbles (bonus at the end of the year). I think he was mentioning around 200 should be feasible. He also said that with my experience I would be applying for either the top level, or just below. How many marbles do generally people at that level get? and how roughly does that translate to TC? I am considering leaving London and moving to Europe and I started having a look at the european market. #finance #optiver #amsterdam
200E is a great salary for natherlands, even amsterdam. Go for it.
Is the 75k standard for all employees and also did they mention anything about sign on?
the recruiter (from a recruiting agency not internal) said max 75k base. He didn't mention anything about sign on, a part some relocation fees, but those are minimal.
This is what new grads are supposedly getting

Do you work at optiver or jump?
Yes
I would not trust the (especially) external recruiter. His goal is to get you sign the contract and get his fees, afterwards its your problems. 75K base sounds very low, my friend from Booking got 100K base as senior dev, with around 8 YOE.
AFAIK base is fixed for optiver at 75 for all employees. Possibly you can waive some marbles for more base. The total comp will blow booking out of the water
Base is always constant in all offices. Bonus makes up the vast majority of compensation for higher levels
Can I dm you please? Have a few questions about Optiver.

Are marbles equal to a share of the profits or something?
yes exactly. what's interesting compared to other prop trading firms is that you roughly know how much you'll get during bonus day. in Investment banking, it's highly dependent on your manager and the bonus is driven more by politics rather than achievements. In the buy side it's generally all cash too, while at Goldman part of the bonus is in shares that need to vest
