Received an offer for a “Director of Product Management” on one of Oracle’s cloud apps. Is it any good? They upped the title and level from Principle and IC-4, if that helps, as I told them I have other offers. IC-5 Base: $180k RSUs: $100k (25k per year) Currently in Austin, TX. Current TC: $160k/yr #Oracle #offer #product #tech
Both your recruiter and HM are lying to you. Seems all they are doing is giving you a vanity title. Because I was a Director of product and that’s M4, none of this IC4 or IC5 nonsense. Oracle formally recognizes the IC and Manager as different tracks when it comes to levels. Some divisions at oracle abuse the vanity title to fool you and likely your clients/partners if you are applying for an externally facing role. Seems you’re joining one of them, sorry to report

Larry would be proud of them.
There is some missing context here. That is no where close to a director of PM salary or even a PM TC. OP is holding out I suspect. What is your current title and what will you be doing on Oracle. It doesn't sound like it's going to PM (despite the title).
I’ll be the PM for one of their cloud apps. Currently a PgM at a FAANG working on a similar internally facing product. PgM title but PM responsibilities. Bit of a weird hybrid setup.
I was suspicious of the title bump being a vanity thing as I have other offers, which others have validated. This role was originally “Principle Product Manager” and an IC-4 when I applied.
Received offer as principle product manager with tc 195000. Is that a good offer?
Did you get a written offer?
Walkaway! A Director is not an IC. 280k is an IC level offer. If you don’t have a director tag at present, I would fight for increasing the stocks to 150-200k every years Director in cloud avg tc would be 350-400k in a tier 2 company
Just realized I typoed the RSUs. The hiring grant is 100k, so the RSUs per year would be $25k/yr making the TC $205k/yr.
