Oracle OCI vs Morgan Stanley offer evaluation
Hi blinders, Hope everyone is doing good 🙂. I need suggestions from you all. I am bit confused as which firm to join Oracle OCI vs Morgan Stanley. Current TC : 22lpa Current designation : Senior Software Engineer Year of experience : 3 years 6 months Oracle OCI offer : TC: 25.4 lpa(incl gratuity and PF) + ( 4+4) bonus - 4 lakhs bonus in first salary and other 4 lakhs in 18th month salary year + 9 lpa stock per year for 4 years (total 36 lakhs) Overall TC : 38.4 lpa Designation: mts ( software developer 3 ) Morgan Stanley Offer : TC: . 27.5 lpa (incl gratuity and PF) + 3 lakh joining bonus Overall TC : 30.5 lpa Designation: Senior Associate I am not certain about Oracle OCI work as it is purely java based but Morgan Stanley is offering me good work that I want . Please help me choose which one to join?
How is interview structure in Morgan Stanley? Do they also follow dsa + system design Can you please throw some light
Yes, They follow 1. dsa/problem solving 2. Dsa/problem solving 3. Pure java based round 4. System design 5. Executive director round (like HM)

Oracle OCI over Stanley anyday. There is a difference between working for a top notch growth oriented cloud based tech company vs a bank.
Mogan is best than dying Oracle Oracle is losing big client left and right . Morgan is stable company . Oracle has did big bet on oci which might not be futile and they may have to fire in next year or so

Okay. The one thing I'll say is I found it quite difficult to get any recruiter calls when leaving Morgan Stanley. You'll hear a lot of jargon and mumbo-jumbo on tech being used etc - but is highly dependent on which team you are on. Fwiw - I joined as an associate and left as an ED. Choose wisely. All the best

I too got the offer from Morgan Stanley, and Oracle as well. I joined Oracle, and do not regret the decision. OCI is all set to make huge impact in Cloud Business. There are lot of bets on OCI from oracle. They have been hiring crazily offering high compensation to ppl from competitors. The quality of team mates, work, and compensation is going to better in OCI than rest of Oracle. Besides, You will be all set for your next switch with OCI work ex. Go with the Oracle, you will not regret it.

It's true that OCI is much better than legacy Oracle say DB, Fusion Apps, etc.
It might be a worthy question to ask the hiring manager whether your work in your team is gonna be coding or pure deployment and ops. I know my team in OCI is outsourcing stupid deployments (os upgrades and such, on the hosts from India) Money wise its a no brainer of course

Please dont join oci , focals are infrequent and growth oportunity depends on your relation with hiring manager . I have seen engineers earning same package for years. Choice is yours , however i must admit wlb is amazing in oci Choice is yours ☺️
OCI has offices at which locations in India? While at MS, you may have to adjust to a bit of late hours if work is driven from US. By my experience here work load is more here as client/manager is aggressive with timelines. Also you own end to end right from dev, deployment,qa and prod monitoring and support. So might get to learn a lot but again at a cost. +1 for leaves. You can get 3 months of paid sick leaves + no of public holidays is usually more compared to other MNCs + 23 vacations. Usually MS offer doesn't not state the PF component. So ur actual CTC may be a more
