Please share what benefits does Oracle give when compared to Microsoft. Example ORCA card, Prime card, HSA company contributions, etc
The problem with Microsoft is like you buy a intel i7 processor to play tic tac toe. I was doing shitty things while there, banging my head against a wall.
Heard they pay well there. As long as pay is good, benefits are not that important. You can buy things with money.
My fear with joining oracle is that Larry doesn't really understand cloud..a few bad quarters and they might axe the whole org just because it's a huge cost center with no profits. It's hard to make such decisions when you're on a visa
They won't axe the org any time soon. But I doubt how that org is going to survive. People there are for cash. It takes years to build cloud with a huge commitment on investing on data centers. I don't think oracle is committed yet. Sometimes when it is too late, it is too late. We will see in three years
But if they are paying you 100% more, why not! Just join, get the cash and when it fails find another job.

Is life really better in the US?
Orca for 100 bucks. There is prime or passport card but benefits not same. Hsa option is not good. You are better off with ppo. 401k vests over four years. You need to pay premium for medical insurance. Provider is united healthcare whose coverage has issues. We faced it this year with some pregnancy issues. But one thing is good that trumped all this. Since I left Microsoft I literally tripled my TC. From 125 to 370. Can’t beat that.
Thanks!
What’s TC?
