Seems like Oracle and mostly oci is hiring and it’s completely remote. Whats the catch - hire and fire?
Turns out some leaders/hiring managers in tech realize remote work is the future and dgaf as long as the work is getting done.
catch is you may get asked to goto an office later on
I thought Larry wanted everyone back in office?
Your management is lying to you or you work in a role that requires people looking over your shoulder.
Pretty sure they want to get rid of all their offices except hq and have everyone not in Dallas work remote (ie what they are doing with newly acquired Cerner)
OCI is remote first so you’re good there. Dev Ops is the catch. It’s very Dev Ops heavy. Wlb is actually really good for me but obviously depends on team. No pip/hire to fire
Which org are you in?
Most of hiring these days is in LCOL locations. OCI is growing as well. There's no PIP or hire and fire. The catch would be that if you get into team that is operations heavy, you may end up spending fair amount of time on ops work.
super toxic organisation
Catch is that a lot of OCI teams are extremely toxic and operations heavy. So if you’re unlucky, get ready to be involved in a lot of political games and irrational decisions and also be oncall months at a time.
Oracle has been remote first even before COVID stated. OCI is hiring but only for critical roles. So, new hires in those teams should be safe. Like others said, in most teams the work is less development and more DevOps.
Oracle is remote first
They don’t do that
Dont do what i heard they pip
I meant they don’t hire to fire. They don’t have a quota for pip either. Normal pip is just firing for poor performance and every company has that
