Why is Palo Alto networks so overvalued? The don’t do anything related to AI and have good competition from Cisco and Arista on the networking hardware side. Fortinet, splunk and a few other companies do cybersecurity and have good market share. I’m pretty sure they can’t keep growing their revenue in double digits like they did till now. Who are they taking market share from and why is the market valuing them so much?
because I work there
Cybersecurity is a massive market and PANW is a massive scale player. You don’t just “do” cybersecurity. They been using AI in anomaly detection for 10+ years. They don’t do vanilla networking hardware. Fortinet is an SMB player and Cisco is a dinosaur.
Yes, it is. But same with other companies like zscaler, crwd, anet, nvda
Idk about valuation. Figured you're just posting FUD on account of Microsoft's new SASE product launch and we are your biggest competitor. But AI is literally everywhere in our products and we have many many dozens of high impact Cybersecurity AI patents and publications.
It’s unrelated, but I wanted to know why panw P/E ratio is so high whereas Microsoft P/E ratio is still normal. The company isn’t even generating money whereas Microsoft is generating money and is still growing (not double digits)
"Not generating money" is really vague. Look at free cash flow also.
Panw panaroma management is complex. Cloudgenix sd-wan has not caught on as much to make a dent. Pricing is high for their cloud security. Strong competition from zscaler, Netskope, Cisco and Microsoft. The losers are going to be PANW and ZScaler.
People have been telling me PAN is too expensive to succeed since before I joined and my stock has more than tripled in value, js. The most expensive/highest quality is where you want to be in the market
Well, it will be interesting, so to speak
Lmao you’re so clueless if you think panw doesn’t do anything with AI
Hyperscalers will eat the lunch of anyone. Look at elasticsearch and AWS. Being biased, I read the latest market trend( correction) on some companies when M$ announced their SASE offering. Going forward having value in SaaS and pizza boxes (HW) for the DC of those companies that have seen the cost of cloud and are optimizing their workloads onprem is going to be key. GL everyone.
aka panw and fortinet
Nobody will rely on Microsucks for security, msft security stack is the worst of the worst. License fees first, walled garden approach, then reliability, complexity, but most of all - vulnerability. Microsoft’s products are shipped with gazillion 0days. Only incredibly stupid people will rely on microsoft stack for security
Because you don’t understand cybersecurity industry
I feel like the whole cybersecurity industry is a scam. They put out all these advanced hacking methods, but who has the time to understand and implement them? With the assumption that they’re likely to fail
Every year a bunch of smart people come up with ways to break things and fix them using stronger techniques. It seems like a useless thing for enterprises, who’s gonna hack Albertsons database and what will they do with purchase history and rewards points when they get access?
Albertsons database has customer information like name, phone number, address, purchase history, points etc. That data is valuable for an enterprise.

How common is it actually to earn more than 300K TC?
Panw is severely undervalued, they will keep growing
Undervalued? I don’t think so. Fairly valued to overvalued
