I was put on PIP at nextdoor. I can share more details in the comments but keeping it light to remain anon. Does someone have experience with pip at nextdoor? Would love to chat about it. What should be my next steps? Will STD(Short Term Disability) help in this case? What is the standard severance and timeline for PIP? #nextdoor #pip
I don't know much about PIP but I don't see how getting an STD would help..
Have not you heardth of FuckMLA
Edited the post. STD refers to Short Term Disability. No offence to you Snap but it seems like I am talking to a bunch of interns here. I hope experienced folks are genuinely being sarcastic here. Would rather have a senior+ folks show me the way instead of talking to interns/new grads
No, HIV won't save you
Sad. Was trying hard to find a silver lining ...
Glad someone else made the joke. But the op means short term disability in this context
Is this your first tech job. How was your job before this?
Not my first tech job but this is my first PiP. I'm on a visa and need as much time as possible to find another job in this economy. What are you exactly getting at? Anything specific you'd like to hear from me?
Why you worry about STD ? Did you fcuk a whorre recently ?
Was planning to... I thought it would've helped man. Hard to catch a break
You should start looking for a job right away while dragging as much time as as possible at the current position since you’re on visa. The information you asked like severance is different depending on companies. You should ask your manager. I heard it’s 2-3 months salary.
I know someone who got out of it but probably unlikely in many cases. But that’s not even a point. Many on pips are not really underperformers. Some of them are pretty high performers. It’s demoralizing to see how they abuse the system with all politics.
it’s mostly political. if you provide feedback in effort to save the company, then pip. SLT doesnt know how to take feedback so better push people out instead :(
I was piped and let go. Dm me if you have any questions. You probably know by now It’s 30 days with possibility of extending further. Do not try FMLA because it needs 30 days notice and they would fire you right away. The severance is 2 months.
why pip? actual performance related or political? do they give you true chance to improve during that month or just for optics?
Why can’t you use FMLA here like Amazon folks
What happened?
How many months of severance? And how many months of PIP
I think OP is asking us those details
