There seems to be a lot of questions and confusions around PIP. I am here to share my experience with PIP. I was in Ops and my previous boss was an ahole. Not only she was micro-managing, but also wanted me to micro manage my direct reports. I was also asked to pull lenels of my direct reports and provide them feedback if they were leaving 1-2 mins early etc. I was also asked to write them up for taking vacation even if it did not really affect the operations. I was frustrated with the work culture, and decided to start applying for other roles. Immediately, I was entered into focus. Not only that, some of my HM's were told that I was in focus and would not be able to transfer to a new role. Fortunately, one of the HM's wanted to hire me despite being on focus since I called him and explained to him the situation. The focus was entered not due to performance issue, but it was entered due to some kind of earn trust, communication related cooked up issue and the HM found it very odd. Fast forward, I was able to transfer to the new team. My new boss told me that he found my previous team weird and we would not talk about the issue again in future. I spend more time with my daughter now and I am not stressed out everyday. I go out play badminton, take my family out for dinner, and I am also starting a new TV show :). Life is good. Feel free to reach out of you have any questions related to PIP process. I want to help this community which helped me Stat strong during my bad time. H1B holder #pip #amazon TC 200k
Is it possible to work 3 4 hours work day in Amazon? N chill in life(
No not 3-4 hours. I like the job that I have. I am learning to code in python not and also SQL etc to automate stuff. I work 9 hours and spend about 2 hours learning python and sql everyday 🙃 but still way better than my earlier role
So happy to hear. Do you mind sharing old and new org ?
I do not. I am in non-tech. Old - fulfillment center Ops new - long term planning, transportation
Thank you
“pip survivor” has to be funniest shit I’ve ever read on blind
Where do you play badminton at?!? Lol do I know you 🤣
Not Seattle, not Bay area
Is playing badminton an insider joke on BLIND? Are you talking about the sport?
Something is not right in your story. When you’re in Focus you are not allowed to move roles, you’re blocked from doing so. Also, plenty of people “survive” Focus, it’s Pivot that it’s hard to come back from because you would already have gone through months of Focus and not improved.
You can and I did. It depends on the HM. Also, my interview had already taken place before I was entered into focus
Ah, that’s probably why
Use paragraphs bro
For real. Such a basic thing that people don’t even do.
This is not PIP, it's focus. Transferring while you're in focus needs VP approval, nothing to do with your HM or current manager. You don't even know what you're talking about.
What is Pip process ? How long is it ? 30 or 60 days ? Do I get severance offered at beginning , middle and severance after pip
