Bootcamps and certifications have been all the rage for the last few years so I’m curious if it’s actually helped people land jobs. For context my background is in Physics but I want to have a career as a Product Manager in tech. I just started the Coursera Google Project Management cert and am half way through the program in just a few hours since it’s all common sense. Am I cheating myself out of valuable information and/or do employers actually care? At this point I’m not set on getting the bigger ones (ie. PMP, Scrum Master, 6 sigma ninja) but at least as a starting point? Same thing with coding bootcamps.. do companies actually care?
