More important to have a referral and applicable work experience on your resume.
Product Manager is not a project management role. That's TPM. At Microsoft a lot of PMs are non-technical project managers though.

Having hired PMs, I really don't care about certs. It's great to help learn the skill, but in the interview I don't care if you have certs, just skills.

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
Microsoft has no requirements. We hire people with useless majors and let them be PMs. I've even seen admins assistants transfer into PM roles.
