Holy shit

Amazon Xino Oct 4, 2018

This would explain how chinese tech and telecom companies have spun up so fast. Certainly Trump will use this to intensify the trade war.

Microsoft MrHyde🎃🎃 Oct 4, 2018

Oh Giiiinaaaa how we hate you ever more now

Intel BK'sBoyToy Oct 4, 2018

It's pronounced Chinar.

Google lemx Oct 4, 2018

Wow. If true, this is approaching the sophistication of the NSA.

Google k8cr OP Oct 4, 2018

True, though presumably we are working for an American company and we should be on the side of the USA.

Broadcom Ltd. rFkd21 Oct 4, 2018

As a HW guy with some exposure to Operations, I’m impressed but not shocked.

Google whatsgood Oct 4, 2018

Not surprising. Where do you think all the gear is actually made? When the Chinese man comes to your Chinese factory and says : put this chip in your stuff. Are you gonna say no?

Oracle đŸȘ jar Oct 4, 2018

Give your balls in someone's hand and then say, "don't squeeze"

Amazon Th6f4 Oct 4, 2018

We need to prevent Chinese h1b from working on anything even remotely sensitive. I guarantee you that inside SuperMicro there were Chinese h1b's who made this possible.

Oracle MJgi15 Oct 4, 2018

in the article it says “productive meetings in super micro are held in mandarin”

Twitter hushhushps Oct 4, 2018

At Oracle, during team meetings people conversed freely in Mandarin when on the phone with China. They didn’t give a rats ass if you didn’t understand.

Intel BK'sBoyToy Oct 4, 2018

Haha this is the 2nd time I ever heard Supermicro's name being uttered on blind. The 1st was in reference to shitty American HW companies to work for and someone mentioned that working for HP is almost as bad as working for SuperMicro. Who are both very good customers of Indel. Another crappy HW company.

Airbnb Gupta1 Oct 4, 2018

This is completely fake news! Both Apple and amazon denied it categorically. The fake news is fabricated for political reasons.

Amazon Th6f4 Oct 4, 2018

BI confirmed it with 17 people including people internal to both companies so the public denials are likely cover. They may have been told to deny it by the FBI.

Airbnb Gupta1 Oct 4, 2018

No, it has not been confirmed at all. The official Apple statement has clarified it’s totally false.
