Hi, I received an offer to join Palo Alto Networks (PANW) India office. During my interview the hiring manager mentioned that he works from US remotely and only visit office 2-3 days per month. He also said that after I join, he doesn't mind if I visit office or work from home as long as work gets done on time. However, when I asked the recruiter, he said that it doesn't matter what my manager says I have to visit office 3 days every week mandatory and there is tracking for it. Both these things are very conflicting and is driving me crazy. - Can any employees tell me if there are any full remote workers in PANW? - If we don't come 3 days per week, is there gonna be any repercussions? - Is it true that they track if you visit office or not? Kindly share some insights please. Current TC: 34 lpa Yoe: 8 #Rto #panw #PaloAltoNetworks #India
In India? RTO rules might be strict … might be, unsure. have a followup meeting with your manager and confirm it.
Sure will do. Thanks. Is the attendance tracking a thing in PANW? Any idea?
Attendance tracking is a thing. They even have a dashboard in workday where you can view ur attendance percentage
The recruiter is right. 3 days is mandatory. Maybe with this manager u can be flexible, but just think about it . If he leaves the company in a few months do u expect things to be the same ?
3 days
3 days is mandatory. In India, it's even more strict compared to other countries.
I’m a full remote US employee but I was hired remotely during the pandemic. Most new positions are no longer fully remote and require 3 days in office per week.
From April your manager will get notification of attendance. 70 percent is required, 9 weeks out of 12 weeks is mandatory
We do have fully remote employees and they are not subject to RTO. However if this role is advertised as office based, and if your contract says office based, you will be expected to be in 3 days a week and this will be tracked. As far as I know the only countries not tracking attendance are a handful of European countries where workers’ councils vetoed the tracking system
Just realize you can always get reorged and whatever your manager says goes out the window with your new boss.
Badging data is tracked and shown to managers, but I heard some groups like HR people get a pass on RTO requirements for some reason. If you’re hired for an office role expect to be in office but not set hours. CEO wanted four days a week but they walked back last minute. Only a matter of time before four days a week or tied to performance review imo.
Go to first few days at office. See what the pattern looks like for your team. In a tech driven company HRs saying is Fairy tales.
Yeah that's what I'm planning to do. Thanks
Second this HR told us we would “never have to go into office” a few years ago. Stories change real quick.
