Recently I joined in Walmart and after that I realized my pay is really low so Can I ask for a raise now. Please share your inputs
Why did you sign the offer then?
Wow 😯🙏
It happened bro .... I can’t change that
I was in this position. I moved from TX to CA and whatever they offered in CA was actually super high in TX. Being an international student I wasnt aware of the difference in taxes, cost, pay etc for different states. I realized I was lowballed when I was switching teams in that company. I was an exceeded expectations performer, and I spoke to my manager about my pay. He listened to it, and said he would help me. But didn't help me for like about 3 to 4 months despite several emails, reminders etc.. He just kept saying what I was asking was fair and he is trying for it. I was pissed, I started to look out, and once I had couple of offers, I gave them one final chance through email saying about the offer and that I was thinking to move since the new one was better for career and compensation. In just a weeks time I got my comp increase letter effective next month. I was like.. whaaat! But it was still not what I was expecting. I filed my papers the next week, and that company now counter offered. But I still wanted to move, so quit them and joined Juniper. I just thought I might have to go through that again in future. In your case, may be talk to him, it might go positive or negative, but you will know what move you should take next.
Wow. Why would you even ask your current company for a raise? I would never do it. Waste of time. Companies are ran by Trump-like jackasses. They fucking hate employees.
Why would you think you couldn't?
Not sure because people won’t talk out about these things
Who won't? And why not?
Get an offer
As juniper said above, they will not deny this but drag it forever. And may be during your next review cycle they MAY give you something extra compared to others, but not too much. If you are a topmost performer and your management chain knows it, things can be different.
Happened to me at Walmart and the hiring manager fixed it. I asked for a raise after I delivered something significant and owned a critical service (took me 8 months).
Yes - but nothing will change until you bring a new decent offer on the table
Yes, Works or not, don’t know. Will depend upon mgr attitude etc. is current mgr hiring mgr too? Then it might be different
Yes
Hmm... So what has changed (for him) to change what he just did?
