I have a PayPal technical interview (3 separate calls) this week. I am very curious what to expect (role is SRE on Autorouting team). Any advice or insight would be appreciated. TC: 110k
I interviewed with them for a SDE 2 role in SanJose last month. Had 4 rounds: 1 System design, 3 Coding (LC medium). Along with the coding questions, we discussed a lot of concepts around object oriented programming, design patterns and things on my resume. The team I interviewed for was very specific about strong system design requirements. Might vary for you. Be ready to answer non programming questions with real life examples. It’s not too difficult. Good luck with the interview :)
Did they ask you to code in Java only? Or language of your choice
Language of my choice. But, I had mentioned it to the hiring manager in a previous round that I’m more comfortable in Python. I guess it should be okay otherwise too.
Number of rounds depends on the level. For T24 level SREs expect 3-4 tech rounds.. mostly on Linux internals, troubleshooting scenarios, bit of system design, scalability questions. Bit of programming LC easy. (Strings, arrays and stuff) For SWEs it's completely different more on programming LC medium and SD.
