Hi @PayPal folks, hope you're safe from layoffs. I have an offer and first date is three weeks from now. What's the chance the offer is cancelled? TC: 200K #tech #layoffs
should be fine
TC?????
250k
I personally saw one of the best performers who lived every bit of the leadership principles and one very very poor performer both get laid off on the same day. Both genuinely good humans so I am sad for them on the personal end but I have faith they will both land on their feet and it will work out for good in the long run. I will tell myself the same thing if I join the list in upcoming weeks.
What’s the severance given?
I don't know until Blind tells me.
Restructuring is common in PayPal. When I used to work there, it was the most political organization. You'd see contractors turn into test engineers turn into SDEs into managers into PMs. These buffoons inside think they're the best company in the whole world while living in their cocoon. You'd see directors with no clue just BSing around. I felt PayPal was a fancy WITCH company of sorts. As long as you bootlick, you should be fine. Having said that, this time I did see some old underleveled underrated team members getting laid off. I have lost all hope for the company.
@elm19193 I am a new grad starting next week and my manager just emailed me today. Seems that offers still stand.
Hi, Is there anyway I can DM for a possible referral for a job I saw?
Sure
Hey! I am starting my PayPal position two weeks from today. Would like to ask if you have safely gone onboard?
Hey how was it for you?
How was it for you ? Did you join ?
We are actively hiring. This round of layoffs was mostly low-performers, people overly outspoken, and people paid too much. I think you’re probably fine, but you could wait until employee day 1 to say you’re leaving your old place if you’re worried.
WOW!!
Are you a manager?Care to elaborate, what do you mean by overly outspoken? Do you like spineless people around you?
