Question about women in their 30’s?
Hi all! I am pretty positive I’ll be receiving an offer from Amazon as an L5 for Product Marketing Manager here in LA. Any idea on salary range I should target? Right now I make $130K base. 8 years of experience. Thanks!
Good for you, @bofa69 !
Honestly it’s a horrible time to jump ship since the talent pools are deep due to COVID. You may need a competing offer to get what you are worth. Best of luck!
I wasn’t actively looking to jump ship. They sought me out. I love my job right now. I make $130K total comp right now (which is really just base and guaranteed bonus). So would need to make $130K base as an L5 AT LEAST in order to consider making a move. Can’t jeopardize my operational income.
Should be easily over what you’re at now.
As non-tech it will 100% be lower base than what you have now. Took a cash pay cut even with competing offer to come to AMZN, 119 base, current TC 141 so rather shitty and that was a year ago before there was even more competition in the talent pool.
Location? Yoe?
Seattle, 8 yrs retail exp with just 2 yrs relevant experience in buying.
I doubt you will make 130 base unfortunately. I know several L5 PMMs in Seattle and NY and the highest reported base is 115 of my contacts (obvi could be higher). Also Amazon caps base at 160. My TC L5 PMM NYC which is a higher premium market than LA (told from recruiter) is 153, base 112 rest stocks.
Your base will likely be lower
I know someone a couple years ago that got L6 offer from Amazon for 350k total comp/year. Half was RSUs + signing bonus in stock. And please know it’s a heavy PIP culture. So keep that in mind.
I haven’t heard heavy pip culture in non tech org. And I’ve been here for 2 years
Non tech role*
Hey, I just received an offer for a Marketing Manager position with Amazon. Base: $150k Sign on first year: $50k RSU: 35 shares YOE: 6 As far as some of the other comments saying that you it’s a bad time to jump and needing a competing offer, I’d remember that you have a job that you weren’t looking to leave anyways. That kind of positioning is a great place to confidently negotiate from. I was in a similar position as you and remembering that definitely helped me confidently negotiate. Good luck!
What level
That’s good TC for general marketing!
Good luck living off that in California
They were living ok with 130k. 🤷♂️
The final offer actually ended up being: 140K base 21K sign on first year, 20K sign on 2nd year 20 RSUs Overall, pretty pleased with the offer considering its an L5. I took it! 🙃
That’s great!
With their vesting schedule does that mean you get 1 share after a year?
Wow that’s low, I make more an that with only 4 years of experience.
BofA pays 130k base for PMM in LA??
As a PMM?
