I'm doing my PhD in hardware engineering and this is my last summer for internships. I worked at Meta last summer and right now choosing between going back to Meta next summer or going to Google for an internship. Both internships pay the same essentially. I am interested in going into industry once I graduate. Meta: - Interesting project and team - PhD level internship - I enjoyed working there last summer - NYC Office - Company is a mess and chances of converting into full-time after the internship might be low Google: - Team/project not as interesting - Regular internship (not an R&D project) - Mountain View Office - Might be more stable than Meta, and has better chance of converting into full time What do you think I should choose and why? TC: 0, student :/ #meta #google #internship #phd #summer #engineer #hardware
Not Meta if you want a job.
You can do another internship when you graduate next year and then immediately convert to full time. Don’t settle for something you don’t enjoy. You’re going to feel like shit working a non-PhD level job with other less intelligent people. Take the R and D job at Meta
I had the same gut feeling. Thank you.

Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
R&D internship is key !! Regular internship you get shitty work that no one wants to do
