What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Google PM. It's better for your career and has the best exit opportunities of any PM job around. (plus better WLB)
+1 Google PM any day
Product manager or TPM?
PM is product when not otherwise specified
product. but out of curiosity, which is better in your view? why?
Google PM to cruise, reap that GSU money and live a cushy, stable life.. Google can’t be beat for QOL and Amazon isn’t close. Amazon PM if you’re willing to sacrifice cushiness because you’re motivated to get shit done and achieve something interesting. These are both amazing roles but they attract different types of people with different goals. This is also partly why Google is coming out with duds like Allo and Google+ while Amazon is trying things and innovating. No midday yoga at Amazon, though. My 0.02 having been a product manager at both. The better role really depends on what matters to you and there’s no wrong answer.
bootylove - what level PM were you at Google? And now at Amazon?
why?
