Edit: canβt keep up with the DMs. LC profile /zompire I reached out to my recruiter on April 2 on LinkedIn, did the onsite on May 6, got the verbal offer today. Man I canβt explain how happy I am. π€©π€©π€© I come from social sciences background. Didnβt study CS in college. Then came to US for masters in my old major. Shit happened back home, had trouble with government, decided to stay here in the US. Did DoorDash, Uber, Amazon driver jobs for 2 years. Got married with no good job living paycheck to paycheck. Wife always believed me β€οΈ Then I decided to join a bootcamp to get into tech, do what I love doing professionally. Always loved doing web development but as a hobby. After bootcamp I got contract jobs as a front-end dev. Always wanted growth opportunities but contract jobs didnβt have any. Also having family & child with shitty health insurance was draining my take home salary every paycheck. So I finally started to apply full-time roles for stability and better benefits. Followed Blind for tips and studied LeetCode questions. When I started applying in February, all I wanted was similar salary with good health benefits. I wouldn't have imaged that this process would end up with offers from three amazing companies! I probably studied for Facebook the hardest, which helped me with the 3 offers I got. I solved around 112 LeetCode questions and some exercises on Facebook recruiting page. I made sure I understood and learned every question I solved. I spent around 4 days to understand 1 LC hard question. I also do YouTube tutorial videos on web development. That helped me a lot when it comes to talking through my solutions. I feel like I can sit down, code, explain, and discuss what I am doing for hours. Interviewed Facebook, Carvana, TrueCar, Twilio, Amazon, and Google. Got offers from Twilio (L2), Amazon (SDE-1, down-leveled from SDE-2), and Google (L3). Choose Google because 1- itβs close to home in Los Angeles (Venice office) 2- TC is not bad for the first 2 years among 3 offers I received 3- better health benefits and WLB for family 4- better brand name Google offer (L3): Base: 143k Equity: 149k (33/33/22/12) Sign-on: 20k (1st year only) Bonus: %15 (performance based) Total TC: 234k / 214k respectively Location: Los Angeles, hybrid Amazon offer (SDE-1): Base: 160k Equity: 91k (5/15/40/40) Sign-on: 43k (1st year), 31k (2nd year) Total TC: 208k Location: Los Angeles, hybrid Twilio Offer (L2): Base: 155k Equity: 280k (25/25/25/25) Sign-on: 5k (1st year only) Total TC: 230k (1st year), 225k (following years) Location: remote Current TC: 156k YOE: 1 years 3 months Here is my LC breakdown:
Are these generic swe offers or frontend specific offers. My congratulations.
All front-end specific. Twilio was something in between.
Congrats. Did you have system design in interviews?
I did at Twilio. Amazon gave me front-end style design question. No design at Google.
Do you have any tutorials for front end style design questions?
Nice one! Now dm me your leetcode profile. I will do the same set of questions Seems like you got great mix of questions which can help in optimizing time and maximizing TC
Would that be sufficient?
How would I know which questions bruh
I made sure I understood and learned every question I solved. I spent around 4 days to understand 1 LC hard question. -- That's some crazy perseverance! You deserve every bit of your success. Congratulations π
Thanks ππΌππΌππΌ
Wow, nice congrats! I am a software engineer at a local company and despite that I am having THE hardest time with the leetcode questions. If you have any tips lmk!
Honesty, every resource people mention in Blind. NeetCode was awesome understanding some LC hards.
Just 112 questions?
Yes sir!
Really nice .. congrats OP ππ
this post is longer than the bible. gz op
Sorry got carried away lol
Am I smelling table salt or salt bed
Congrats π does Google ask leetcode for frontend too?
I got slightly easier questions compared to what people talk about here (DP, backtracking, etc.) but no, didnβt get any LeetCode question.
No leetcode for front end?
Congrats on the offers! How's the difficulty of your interviews at Google? I've got interviews coming up for L3 soon, not sure what to expect.
It wasnβt too hard for me. I found it acceptable for L3. Nothing crazy like DP or backtracking..
Thanks, hopefully I don't get anything too crazy either! Been doing some Google tagged Qs and though I know they generally won't ask questions from LC, I wouldn't know where to even begin with some of them...
Congrats! π
Thanks ππΌ
Congratulations!!!!!!
